Dear readers,

I would like to thank you for taking the trouble to read my book, and I'd like to say a very special thank you to all who have been affected enough to actually write to tell me your thoughts. It is very heart warming to know that my story is moving people, to know of your strong resolutions to try never to allow our society to get like this again. I really am very touched by all your good feeling and affection and to know that many of you will tell your children.

One question that I keep being asked is whether I still have faith in god. My answer is, that I am very doubtful. Most of my family have been murdered including six million of my people and over 40 million others. We all prayed to god to help us, but all we got was more killing, more torture, more humiliation, more blood being spilt. I was at the centre of one of many Nazi killing machines and I was screaming out for god to help us, I have never prayed so hard in all my life, he did not respond. I am not entirely closed to the idea though, all your good wishes and kind messages are certainly a source of comfort and optimism pointing to the fact that people understand the need to move towards a more tolerant society and that we must all respect ourselves and others and rejoice in our differences.

I apologise that I can not answer every message, but you can all certainly rest assured that I do read every one, and many will appear here on my web site.

With my very best wishes, and long life to you all.

SAM PIVNIK.
